CHALO ...for Breakfast

Image
As winters onset, it takes a little mental cajoling to get the body out of the bed and out for morning walks...I still manage my  wintery - blues 😅,not bad for a person who has seen six decades- sixty cycles of all seasons .. but 😊 am still not weathered down...!!! Post Diwali morning it was largely peaceful on the roads for want of traffic, the air was relatively fresh with a feel of gentle wind like when swinging on a hammock. Branches of trees were swaying as if resonating with the rythm. Golden sunrays filtering through the branches and canopies.... glowing amd shimmering as they lit up the ground !! what a sight to behold accompanied with gleeful chirpings of  birds and occasional sounds by squirrel and peacocks and peahens.  In the forest that i go for walks i slightly change my route as it saves me from monotony. Also you see nature at dif...

The Lonely, Drifting Clouds

How  happy I was  to see a call from my  dearest friend Vishakha ...but now I was sad and distraught ! ... wanting to disbelieve what I had just heard !! ...Today I had called  Vishakha to find out how her visit to Chennai to her son's place had been, but now almost wished that i shouldn't have !   The first sound I had heard from the other side had been a muffled sob,  unnerved I asked what was wrong ?...her emotion - laden voice punctuated  with sobs weaved her anguish in the story as she  echoed it out . .., Initially, all had been  well when they reached Aakash's ,their sons place in Chennai- a  big plush luxurious bungalow, with manicured garden - a dream house. As they settled down during the weekdays expectedly Aakash was super busy being a CEO. So Vishal and Vishaka relaxed and liked it too. Neelam, their Daughter ...

HOBBY - Light a🔥within !!

Hobby is a very often overly used and so obviously underrated.  It's has lifetime dividends to pay if small regular SIP effort is put in place in routine life... ! You think it is difficult., Certainly not !! If pursued consciously and  vigorously it can upscale your life in qualitative dimension. It was a saviour for me when at the fever but helm of things I decided to quit and retire after a point in time I was staring at an abysmal large vaccuous hole ...My  long forgotten hobby rescued me ! We all had hobbies - stamp , coin collection,  various games, creative arts ,  Performance arts, gardening some other inherited arts through  home environment... mostly pursued for  pleasure. In these times also, one sees Parents taking children for various Hobby classes. These hobby choices are made based on child's intrest but most such choices are also  stipulated by availability, location and mostly as a result of tr...

It's all in the timing ...!

I go for my walks regularly, almost religiously but in the morning as it is peaceful hence rejuvenating. But the inclement rains have successfully breached this walk routine...skies  pour down and then what you get to experience is a lake like situation in which to venture out  is like hens trying to walk in a pond...!! I decided to reinvent my walk routine...and on the spur of moment wore my shoes, just after having consumed my lunch and took off to a forest area in my vicinity... It turned out be absolutely a novel and an eye-opening but also a refreshing experience..!! As I entered and reached a little deep into the forest, on to the walking tracks ...it was quite still  and quiet, walking on  mesmerized by the silence, I waited for  some nature's sounds . The silence was almost absolute - so much so that I could hear my own footfalls ... disquieting !!! Very occas...

'The Beetle 🐞 on the walk'

Image
Today being Holi, I woke up early to finish my daily ritual of Morning walk, the sun was still under the dawn-wrap🏙️. As I walked on, ahead on the curb, in the backdrop of Bougainvilleas of various shades - reds, violets, orange - were the rows of Dhaliyas, Sweet peas, Dogflowers, Poppies , Magnolias, Pansies and Nasturtiums a breathtaking sight it was almost magical with butterflies🦋 and insects 🐝flitting and flirting around and having their fill. A sweet fragrance hung in the air as I continued my walk, conscious of benign benevolence of nature...!!! I  had just about  completed my walk on the paved track designated for walkers, when I gave into the thought of walking 🐾barefooted...  The morning was completely awesome - overcast 🌫️sky and trees 🌳swaying 🍃gently to the cool winds  and the green grass inviting - with dew drops overhanging like small dangling pearls- dotted with wild yellow flowers. This magnificent ...

The Uninvited-visitor'

Lockdown 2020 was on,Winters were waning, April had just begun. The  day had gone by in a peaceful and regular...desolate way. In the early evening, I was sitting in the Drawing Room- adjoining  to my terrace, relaxing after tending to my 'adopted and much loved' plants . To melt away the desolation triggered tiredness I brewed for myself a cup of tea and reclined placing my feet on the coffee stool. Intermittently Sipping my tea  I continued to work on my needles, knitting a sweater for my grandson.   As I bent down to keep my cup on the side stool, I felt something swishing past me but wasn't able to gauge it. To ascertain that it was nothing but my heightened senses... I got up and as I tiptoed towards my bedroom what caught my glance was a squirrel(🐿️) on its hind legs ...probably sensing me,  long jumped in a swish like an over shot arrow and landed once on the bed and in another  lob disappeared  behind the sofa chair in the corn...

...Spider?... Cobweb?...or both?

It was raining outside...after an intense patch of sultry weather, the weatherman had predicted it ,and lately 😃they have been bang on too!  With the clouds  blackening , the rain turning into a thunderstorm. The trees were waving wildly and, the branches and leaves dancing merrily, almost crazily as if intoxicated. It was only the firmness of roots in the ground which seemed to be holding the trees wanting to fly out into the arms of the celeberatory weather...as if in abandonment. I opened all the doors and windows to let in the  buoyancy of rain and breeze to soak and replace the heavily humid environment of my home....to purge it out !  In keeping with the weather, I sat myself to a treat of samosas and a cup of hot piping tea...Inhaling the misty fresh air as I was settling into the nook of the sofa, I saw a spider slowly crawl along the  doorway into my  room. Sorry !I am not scared of spiders🤪!!! so somewhat fascinated, I followed it's movement...
